Great Team & Culture in St Helens Operations
Pros: The team culture at IPS is excellent, with colleagues in St Helens being highly supportive and collaborative. As an Operations Coordinator, I've found strong teamwork and good learning opportunities within the industrial services sector.
Cons: Peak seasons bring intense workloads for Operations Coordinators in industrial services. Leadership is supportive, but better streamlining of internal communication across departments could enhance efficiency.
Advice to Management: Maintain IPS's strong, collaborative culture; it's a key asset in St Helens. Focus on tools to streamline inter-departmental communication and improve workload distribution during peak demand.

Excellent Flexibility in Cyber Underwriting Role
Pros: The work flexibility at IPS, especially for a Senior Cyber Underwriter, has been excellent. The hybrid work model from our Birmingham, England location truly helps manage personal and professional life in the demanding insurance industry. It allows for concentrated work and still provides opportunities for valuable in-person collaboration with a supportive team. There’s also good exposure to evolving cyber risks, fostering continuous learning in the financial services sector.
Cons: While generally positive, there are times when the workload can become very heavy, particularly during peak renewal periods, which can strain work-life balance despite the flexibility. Sometimes, inter-departmental communication could be smoother to streamline processes and reduce delays, especially when dealing with complex bespoke policies. A bit more clarity on long-term career progression paths within the cyber underwriting specialty would also be beneficial for future planning.
Advice to Management: Continue to foster the flexible work environment. Explore ways to streamline cross-departmental communication and approval flows to ease pressure during peak times. Providing clearer visibility on advancement within specialist underwriting roles would also be appreciated by the team.

Good flexibility and supportive team for an Underwriter
Pros: The work-life balance is decent here, mainly due to the excellent work flexibility offered by IPS. As a Senior Cyber Underwriter, I appreciate being able to work remotely a few days a week from Birmingham, which really helps with personal commitments. The team in the financial services sector is very collaborative, making complex underwriting tasks much easier. I've also had good opportunities to learn and grow within the cyber insurance space. It's a stable company that values its employees.
Cons: While flexibility is great, during peak periods in the insurance industry, the workload for a Senior Cyber Underwriter can become quite intense, sometimes making it challenging to fully leverage that flexibility. Also, some internal approval processes could be streamlined for faster decision-making, which would improve efficiency across various underwriting initiatives.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing internal approval workflows to enhance efficiency and explore strategies to better manage workload distribution during high-demand periods to ensure employees can consistently benefit from the offered flexibility.
