Stable operations role with team camaraderie
Worked as an Operations Coordinator in facilities management. It's a large company with a decent national presence. The day-to-day could be varied, and I learned a lot about service delivery and client relations. Generally, it was a stable job with a good team environment, though some internal processes could be smoother.
The best part was definitely the team I worked with in Carlton. We had a really collaborative spirit and helped each other out, making the daily tasks more enjoyable. For a large services company, the job security felt pretty solid, and I appreciated the consistent work. The company provides essential services, which gives a sense of purpose.
While the team was great, communication from higher up could sometimes be a bit disjointed, leading to confusion on larger projects. Training for new systems or procedures wasn't always comprehensive, so a lot of learning was on the job, which can be challenging. The pay, while adequate, didn't offer much room for negotiation.
Focus on streamlining communication channels between different departments and levels. More proactive training on new systems would benefit employees and improve efficiency.
