My client is renowned for high-quality Australian-made metallic fittings. They design and manufacture innovative, superior products for global customers, offering stunning finishes that combine beauty and functionality. They seek a motivated, loyal Design Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Your new role
Work in a small, agile team on new product development and production planning
Design and model parts using OnShape, AutoCAD, SolidWorks alike CAD software; selecting materials and manufacturing processes
Design tools to support in-house production; prepare and approve engineering drawings.
Conduct simulations, stress testing, and arrange external testing for certification
Manage product development schedules, arrange prototypes, and communicate with internal and external partners
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will ideally have similar subject matter experience, with exposure to working with brass fittings being highly regarded. They will bring a deep understanding of materials and manufacturing processes, and the ability to design tools and engineering drawings. With experience in simulation and stress testing, plus stellar project management skills, they will drive innovation and efficiency, making them the right fit for my clients' team.
Proficiency in OnShape CAD software for designing and modelling parts
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, including casting, forging, and CNC machining
Ability to design tools (jigs and fixtures) and prepare engineering drawings
Experience with simulation, stress testing, and arranging external product testing
Strong project management skills, including scheduling, prototyping, and effective communication with internal and external partners
