The Senior Director, Product Manager is a key role within the Government Solutions/ Equifax Workforce Solutions (EWS) organization, the fastest growing business unit within Equifax. To help support high double digit growth, we are looking for a high-performance individual looking to make their mark to help grow the business and their career.
This role balances Local, State, and Federal Government market short term execution priorities with long term growth strategies. The position is highly market/customer driven – and works across the organization leveraging the skills and knowledge of pricing, product marketing, sales, market strategy, finance, operations and technology to address Government market/client needs identified and prioritized through government industry strategies. This role will work with the Government Vertical Market Teams to understand the market, competitive/alternative offerings, drive and define strategic priorities and identify/execute product initiatives that meet local/state and federal government needs (existing product bundles, product enhancements and new product innovation).
The Senior Director, Product Manager will work with a cross functional team to drive a cohesive go-to-market strategy delivering solutions that create unique value for buyers. The role requires internal and external thought leadership and the ability to drive initiatives to execution. This role is a tactical program and product management role. Must be able to move between understanding strategy, setting a plan and executing a plan seamlessly. Working across a highly matrixed organization and leveraging lessons learned from other organizations will be critical to success.
The Senior Director, Product Manager will work a hybrid schedule, working in the office 3 days per week, from our office in Reston, VA.
What You’ll Do:
- Market Opportunities: Discover opportunities in the local, state, and federal government markets by interviewing current and prospective customers and validating urgent problems to show their pervasiveness in the market.
- Market Definition: Map needs within local, state, and federal government markets and analyze the market segments to actively pursue. Ensure that the targeted segments are large enough to support the current/future business and position of the solution along with other Government products.
- Business Plan/Case: Perform an objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment. Articulate learnings in the market and quantify the risk, including a financial model.
- Product Roadmap: Assist in long-term planning and product diversification.
- Distribution Strategy: Determine which channels (web UI, batch, API) best align with the markets' buying preferences.
- Execution: Collaborate across functions in order to rapidly deliver new or enhanced solutions to the market. Make quick and effective decisions while considering many complicated competing forces in order to hit deadlines and drive revenue.
- Product Positioning: Provide Portfolio Marketing with inputs for creation of positioning, value propositions, and challenger-based messages to differentiate our solutions.
- Solution Profitability: In collaboration with Sales, Finance, and D&A, monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI’s) to determine how well the solution is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations, and ultimately, how it contributes to profit. Recommend adjustments as needed.
- Thought Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert and provide thought leadership to aid in the strategic direction and development of webinars, whitepapers, conference speaking engagements, case studies and other marketing initiatives.
- Customer experience: Understand how clients use our solutions (delivery, on-boarding, experience, etc.); Collaborate with Portfolio Marketing to develop and maintain key buyer and user personas; Understand the buying process.
What Experience You Need:
- Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a B2B product management or related role in a complex business environment, including experience with go to market strategy development.
- 2+ years broad experience in government service offerings preferred

- Ability to adjust to new, changing or ambiguous situations (e.g., different management styles, new methods, systems and procedures) and changing priorities within the business and the marketplace.
- Direct experience in and understanding of the government sector
- Track record of successfully delivering high quality projects on time in a fast-paced/rapidly changing environment
- Extensive analytical skills as evidenced by a proven ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze product concepts, assess market opportunities/viability, and evaluate competitive threats
- Autonomous influencer who can work comfortably with Marketing, Data & Analytics, Technology, and Sales teams, to get the job done

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. At Equifax, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $133,076 to $180,044. This position is also eligible for our incentive compensation program.
