About Northern Beaches Hospital Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients. NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards. Northern Beaches Hospital is a dedicated facility for all patients in the local area. About the Role Ward 6D is an adult general medical ward with 30 beds. Of the 30 beds there are 20 double rooms with ensuite and ten single rooms which include one negative pressure room and one bariatric room-with a ceiling hoist. The medical conditions we care for include geriatrics, renal, endocrine, neuro. As an Enrolled Nurse in our medical ward, you will utilise a high standard of evidence based nursing care to plan, assess and implement care for all patients in collaboration with the patient/ family and multidisciplinary team. As an enrolled nurse, and to be successful in this role you will:
Provide a high level of clinical care and exceptional customer service to patients
Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care to individuals under the direction and supervision of the RN
Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
Administer medications according to state law and organisation policy
Act as a role model for Safe Practice
As an enrolled nurse, and to be successful in this role you will:
Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA
Prior experience in an acute care hospital
Minimum 1 years' experience in the acute setting.
Demonstrated practice according to evidence based nursing and latest contemporary practices in nursing
Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Intermediate computer skills
Flexibility with shift allocations, timing.
