Mandatory Skills And Experiences
Proven experience with data processing (Level-0, Level-1 and Level-2) of meteorological and/or earth observation products from Satellites instruments
Proven experience in the integration, verification and validation (IV&V) of data processing systems and/or processors, including generation of test plan, test specification, procedures and test reports for end-to end processing chains
Knowledge of scripting languages and databases (e.g. Perl, Python, shell, PostgreSQL)
Demonstrated experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems
Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation
Practical knowledge in Configuration Control
High degree of working autonomy
Problem solving
Good analytical skills
High degree of interpersonal awareness
University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
Mandatory Skills Within The Team
Proven experience in System Engineer development and system design
Knowledge in Computer systems, Network systems and IT Security
Experience in working as part of a multicultural team
The Following Experience Would Represent Additional Assets
Knowledge of Spacecraft and/or ground segment operations
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Java and IDL)
Knowledge and/or experience of quality control, calibration and validation
Knowledge of Development and maintenance of operational procedures and/or configuration data;
Knowledge of ECSS standards
Knowledge of DOORS
Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and related tools (SysML, Enterprise Architect)
Fluency in English is mandatory; this is the working language at EUMETSAT, and the Contractors must be able to work effectively in this language both in written and spoken form.
